The stars aligned for The Mangones to make
the move

Sometimes all it takes is one moment to set your life on a new trajectory. For David and Linda Mangone it was the day they received a mailing from Parkshore Juanita Bay. “We received a postcard in the mail announcing the creation of the community. Our friends had just moved into a retirement community, so we were open to considering the option of a CCRC, which we had never heard about before!” they share.

When they discovered that the community would be built in Juanita Bay – a place they frequently walk – they decided to attend an overview session. Linda explains, “At the end of the meeting, David turned to me and said, “let’s do it!” We were sold by the location, the organization creating the community, and the ambiance of the plans.”

They were also excited to be moving into a newly constructed apartment building, and would be sharing the move-in with others. The camaraderie is something they have already begun to enjoy. “We have been very pleased with the opportunity to meet several of our soon-to-be neighbors, and participate in the walking and book clubs, along with other get-togethers,” they say.

One of the other major perks of making the move was leaving home ownership and maintenance behind, says David. “We feel confident that our future is more secure with the continuing care aspect of Parkshore Juanita Bay. We anticipate lots of fun, too!”
